Part of the online approach is to use an Instant Messaging tool, like, MSN. With witty, funny messages, guys can signal their personality of playfulness, humorous and confidence even while communicating online.

There are many ways to creating humor. One benefit of MSN is that you can download all these funny icons to blend them into your message. Avoid over 'girly' icons though as they might not signal 'Manly' qualities to the lady. For example, while saying out of this world, you can add an emoticon of a shocking theme to highlight the effect.

Another way is to say things that are out of the blue. For example, if a girl is at home during office hours and she is on leave, I would politely ask her, "Why are you on leave?". And then proceed to guess the reason why. I will even suggest ridiculous reasons like she is on maternity leave to crank up the humor element. Note though, do use humor selectively and 'feel' for the situation before you use it. If you feel that the lady is in a serious mood while she is msn-ing you, do not go over the top with humor but instead choose some light hearted topic to continue conversation.

Imitation is funny also. Many Singapore guys write in Singlish with the 'la', 'lor', 'hor'. I use them too as they can trigger humor. However, at times, I do write in 'Queen's English' too. I write in a very serious and cordial manner to make her laugh.
